 Duties and responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Emergency Response Project Manager oversees all flood and other emergency response program implementation and logistical support to program activities in their State.

 

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Area Manager.  If none, Country Humanitarian Response Manager

Staff reporting to this post: Yes

Budget Responsibilities: None

 

Role Dimensions:

  • Save the Children International in Sudan is working across Sudan. Our thematic coverage includes child rights governance, child protection, education, health, nutrition, WASH, livelihoods, and humanitarian emergencies. We maintain diversified sources of funding including SIDA, OFDA, DFATD, GSK, EC/ECHO etc.
  • This is a challenging role in a complex environment. It requires a dedicated, experienced and highly motivated individual who can manage the difficulties of living and working in such an environment and still be fundamental in helping to drive forward our programmes and our ambitions.

 

CONTRACT LENGTH:

  • El Gezira, River Nile, Khartoum, Sennar = 6 months – dependent on funding
  • Red Sea = 3 months - dependent on funding

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
  • Education to BA level in Civil engineering, Geology, Public Health or a related subject,  or equivalent Diploma with extensive field experience,
  • Minimum 2-3  years’ experience with WASH sector, NGO/INGO/UN Agency, or a 10 yrs experience equivalent of Diploma
  • working in Health, Nutriton, WASH related humanitarian programmes with special focus on Construction/ and water works
