Description

Duty Station: Khartoum

 Background:

As a signatory for International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), Sudan has undertaken a massive effort to accelerate sexual and reproductive health and rights of girls and women including investing in family planning services. As a consequence, the rate and number of maternal deaths have been decreased. Achieving zero preventable maternal deaths and zero unmet need for family planning are critical goals to be achieved by 2030. Specific interventions– including adherence to family planning guidelines- need to be implemented.

The family planning guidelines serve as standards for family planning services and programs at different levels, improve quality of services and could be used as a general management and directive tool. They could be used by Health managers, policy makers, program coordinators, health care providers and all stakeholders. To ensure high level of quality on family planning services, regular training on family planning guidelines should be conducted.
