 Duties and responsibilities:
  1. Emergency Preparedness, Response & Program Implementation
  •  Lead the SCI  emergency response during floodings or other ( displacements, natural disaster, crisis… etc) in Gezira State and Sennar State.
  • Undertake rapid needs assessments to identify gaps and needs in humanitarian landscape;
  •  Oversee the implementation of the emergency response program and ensure that stated goals and objectives are met;
  •  Ensure that program implementation is managed closely through the development of structured work/implementation plans.
  • Coordinate with line ministries,NGOs,  NNGOs,CBOs, and local authorities in Gezira state during the project age to contribute to project success.
  • Lead  the team in implementation of activities like NFIs distribution, conduct Mobile clinics,educational and awareness session  through Gezira state.
  • Report  and update on regular basis in project implementation to Emergency response Manager.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Staff Management and Development:

  • Manages and provides leadership to emergency teams.  Provide support and supervision to staff to ensure successful implementation of programme.
  • Provides opportunities for staff development, recommendations for improvements, and agree on action plans with the field teams.
  • Ensures that all staff are familiar with, adhere to and implement the procedures and processes detailed in the Rules and Principles for Humanitarian Response.
  • Ensures staff safety and security is taken care of.

  • Acts as an ambassador for child safeguarding in both your professional and personal life. Never abuse your position of trust and authority.
  • Keeps children we work with safe from deliberate harm/risk or inadvertent harm/risk. This is a top organizational and personal commitment, and the standards of behaviour towards children expected by the organization should reflect both in your personal and professional life.
  • Behaves towards children in a way, which reflects the Code of Conduct, CSG Code of Conduct and Child Safeguarding Policy.

 

 

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • At least 3 years of progressive responsibility working in humanitarian programs with INGOs.understanding of Items distributions, understanding or living in Gezira  state is an advantage
  • Previous experience in emergency response and humanitarian aid is an advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Capacity to coordinate with multiple other stakeholders, including government authorities, community representatives, the UN and other humanitarian agencies.
  • Good knowledge of the area of intervention.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including under challenging and comsetimes insecure circumstances.
  • Willingness to learn and share information.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a team.

 

Desireable

  • Good computer skills in MS packages (Computer Applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Understandin of Gezira and Sennar state /villages / and administrative units is an advantage
