Introduction to the Country Office: Norwegian church Aid is in Sudan since 1972 and works in the fields of relief, rehabilitation, and development.  The Country Office in Khartoum currently has its field offices in South, Central Darfur, South Kordofan States, and  the Eastern Sudan Refugees Response Program in Al-Gadarif. NCA works through national partners in North, West, South Kordofan, White Nile, and South and Central Darfur States.

 Background:

NCA's South Kordofan Field Office is in need of a Field Officer  to  liaise with the relevant government authorities, represents NCA in all coordination meetings, and  provides administrative and logistical support for projects, initiatives, and programs within the area.

 Duties and responsibilities:

1. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Support, coordination, and representation of NCA in all cluster and government meetings within South Kordofan.
  • Networking and maintaining of good relations with the stakeholders and related communities in Greater Kordofan.
  • Make regular visits to the projects implemented by NCA in Greater Kordofan and provide reports.
  • Ensure the implementation of security policies and the SOPs.

2. MAIN TASKS:

  • Represent NCA in all coordination meetings including cluster meetings and government coordination meetings and provide the Line Manager with briefs on the meetings.
  • Maintain good relations with the stakeholders in Greater Kordofan.
  • Liaise with the concerned government authorities to facilitate approval of documents and other tasks required by NCA.
  • Make regular visits to the projects implemented by NCA in Greater Kordofan and provide reports after each visit.
  • Keep regular contacts with the concerned partners’ field staff to be aware of the situation of the ongoing projects.
  • Facilitate and participate in field visits organized by NCA HO and HQ staff.
  • Oversee the project activities to ensure that the projects are implemented according to the approved plans.
  • Monitor the overall progress and achievement of the results as well as the sustainability of the projects.
  • Develop program monitoring reporting templates that facilitate the acquisition and aggregation of information.
  • Assist in gathering, summarizing, and disseminating relevant updates on program planning, monitoring and operations.
  • Oversee partners’ quality implementation and compliance with the approved action plans.
  • Develop and maintain a system for archiving and documentation of NCA projects and office works.
  • Participate in project reviews and training workshops.
  • Manage the procurement process according to NCA policies and guidelines and keep the necessary documentations.
  • Prepare payment requests for approval by the relevant staff and finance.

3. OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS ASSIGNED TO THE POSITION:

  • Contribute to coordination across departments and sectors.
  • Provide relevant documentation for archiving in NCA system.
  • Ensure compliance with NCA security- and program routines, regulations, and SOPs
  • Coordinates with the Access & Safety Coordinator in all safety aspects.
  • Ensure high quality implementation of program implemented by NCA/partners in Greater Kordofan.
  • PSHEA + Travel CS Focal Point.
  • Any other task assigned by the line manager or management.
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

4. Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in social sciences, economics or related discipline.
  • Computer skills in MS office (Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, Internet and Disk management).
  • Proficient in relevant data storage and analysis software.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge and experience in program/project management.
  • Excellent in both, written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Excellent command of report writing in English.
  • At least 5 years of experience in participatory assessments, monitoring, data processing or analysis.
  • Facilitation and good communication skills.
  • Experience of report writing to various donor agencies.
