The NRC has recently re-registered to operate in Sudan, and is currently in country start-up phase, conducting assessments and designing the first steps of the programme. Focus will be given to people displaced by conflict, refugees, and vulnerable migrants, and potential geographical areas of work will be Khartoum state, South Kordofan and Blue Nile on a first phase, with the idea to expand to other States.
The purpose of the assistant position is to provide daily technical users support in the entire spectrum of ICT operations at the NRC Sudan – Khartoum Country office, under the supervision of the ICT Coordinator, ensures the delivery of the services on information systems and telecommunications to all staff.

- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
- Ensure proper filing of documents.
- Provide help desk support to all users on IT issues.
- Maintain the existing Asset Registry to track all ICT & Non-ICT equipment’s.
- Preparation and release of ICT resources to authorized users as approved.
- Diagnosis and resolution of hardware, software, or connectivity problems.
- Provide support to the office staff upon request in the use of systems and applications.
- Schedule regular computer-related service & maintenance.
- Setup internet connectivity for all staff as well as visitors.
- Performs other duties, as required, or as requested by line manager.Professional competencies
- Bachelor’s in information technology or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in providing user support for all typical office ICT specially LAN/WAN/VSAT/Wireless technologies, Cisco Switches & Routers.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to keep up to date with modern trends in technology and match this with internal specifics.
- Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, support, and implement technical solutions at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
