Job Title: Kordofan Area Coordinator

Base: roving with 25% in Each of (1) AlFula - West Kordofan, (2) AlObeid – North Kordofan, (3) Kadugli/ Rashad - South Kordofan, and (4) Khartoum.

Location: (1) AlFula - West Kordofan, (2) AlObeid – North Kordofan, (3) Kadugli/ Rashad - South Kordofan, and (4) Khartoum.

Start Date: 1 Jan 2022.

Contract Duration: 12 Months.

Gross Salary: 840 USD (the payment will be in SDG currency).

Grade level: Grade 4 (out of 5)

Reporting to: General Director/ Area Manager, cc to Executive Director.

 Duties and responsibilities:

Major Functions/ Responsibilities: 

Project supervisor:

  • Support field staff to coordinate and supervise the HOPE projects in daily based at the field.
  • Support field staff to be responsible of formation of community-based committee and other subcommittees and ensure their complaints are response with required standards, besides managing of all resource needed for implementation including receiving/ procuring of working tools and delivery assets, kits and materials to the beneficiaries.
  • Supervision of the field working staff like Field Coordinators, M&E officer, Project Managers as well as provision of the technical support to staff based in the field.
  • Give timely solicited decisions in manner in case of any difference in the work plan or project inputs, in addition to monitoring and observation of all projects inputs.
  • Support field staff to hold regular meeting with the projects officers, accountant, etc.. to make project plan and discuss regular reports.

Implementation of projects objectives:

  • Ensure that the projects objectives and output are taken into consideration during planning and implementation in accordance with the projects documents.
  • Support field staff to oversee the outcomes and the impacts of the interventions made to the community.

Finance and Grant Management:

  • Support field coordinators to oversee of the implementation of detailed project work plans and spending plans for all project activities.
  • In consultation with Executive Director/ Managers to review every project expenditure on a quarterly basis; compare with project work plans and overall progress.
  • Support field coordinators to put work plan, write payment requests and develop quality control.
  • Support field coordinators to take care of the project properties/ assets in the field.

 

Communications, Partnership and Alliances Engagement:

  • Ensure relevant synergies and linkages between HOPE and Partners/ Potential Partners including UN agencies, INGOs, Donor, and NNGOs. Also linkages with relevant government institutions at state level.
  • Build and maintain effective alliances and operational collaboration with public and private partners, such as government ate state level, UN agencies, Donor, INGOs, NNGOs, the business sector, civil society actors, and communities.
  • Support field coordinators to maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Arrange meeting with potential partners and attend partner’s meeting in regards HOPE projects as well as attend regular sector meeting at state level.
  • Support field coordinators to Plan and organize the project missions, including communication with the mission teams as well as briefing and debriefing meetings for the missions.
  • Support field coordinators to Requesting HAC and other relevant government institution to take permit for missions and projects activity.

Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and Reporting 

  • Oversee of Follow-up the implementation of detailed projects works plans in the field together with Area Manager/ M&E Officer in HQ.
  • Check field ongoing activities, and fill in the M&E format of Monitoring Field Visit.
  • Check activities report, and prepares project progress report and any other briefing reports/ updates as requested by program manager/ Managers.
  • Write monthly progress reports and final projects reports upon completion.

Others:

  • Support field coordinators to apply and maintain the projects documentation system at state level.
  • Prepares contract of service providers such as trainers and contractors.
  • Any other task or responsibility determined by management of HOPE.
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required: 

  1. Strong management and supervisory skills and experience (at least 5 years’ experience);
  2. Fluent written and oral communication skills in English Language;
  3. Prefer relevant technical qualifications and expertise in Education or Child Protection with at least one other sector of FSL, WASH, and Peacebuilding;
  4. Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred;
  5. Experience in project start-up processes and MEAL;
  6. Experience in community engagement and working with government and community stakeholders;
  7. Excellent survey/assessment skills and knowledge to write quality reports; and
  8. Excellent proposal writing skills.
