  Logistics (procurement) Assistant (National Position) Advertisement

NRC resumed operations in Sudan in 2020, providing humanitarian assistance, protection, and durable solutions. Our country programme integrates all of NRC’s six core competencies (camp management, education, ICLA, livelihoods, shelter, and WASH), and provides a rapid response capacity (including for the recent refugee emergency in eastern Sudan), and thematic capacities for cash and markets-based approaches, advocacy, digital modes of assistance, and co-leading various technical and strategic coordination platforms.

The purpose of a Logistics Assistant is to implement delegated area of responsibility. The following is a brief description of the role.

Generic responsibilities

Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines Assist with the implementation of the procurement function’s portfolio according to procurement monthly work plans and work and development plan Prepare and develop status reports as required by Field Office Coordinator Deliver and receive all quotations and tenders and accurately prepare issuance and receipt records Communicate and arrange meetings with suppliers as requested Prepare all relevant procurement documentations such as bid analyses and purchase orders Scan and file documents as per the securing and storing documentation policy Assist in the planning and delivery of logistic activity Maintain procurement records, update suppliers data bases and equipment spreadsheets Promote and share ideas for improvement of the procurement functionSpecific responsibilities

Support the procurement of goods and services for the Kutum programme in accordance with NRC and donor procurement policies and procedures and in coordination with the NRC El Fasher Office Source appropriate suppliers in the local market for the procurement of goods and/or services based on specifications provided by programme staff Liaise with country office and Area Office logistics and programme staff to ensure timely delivery of procured goods and services Ensure paper and electronic records are maintained in a systematic manner in line with NRC's standard procurement procedures, providing a clear auditable trail Establish and maintain good professional working relationships with suppliers and contractors whilst strictly adhering to NRC's anti-corruption guidelines and NRC's code of conduct Conduct regular market surveys for commonly purchased goods and services and ensure the supplier database is updated with key supplier informationGeneric professional competencies:

At least 2 years of experience from working as a Logistics or Procurement Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities Minimum of University degree in Business Administration, Supply Management, Procurmetn and any other related course Good computer skills - MS Office & database  Good in oral and written English and Arabic, written and spokenContext/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

Knowledge of cash-based interventions and market-based programmes is an advantage Service minded, with strong organizational and planning skills Preferably previous working experience in Kutum Preferably experience with start-up missions Good cultural awareness and sensitivity Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential Attention to details, problem solving skill, excellent time management skillsCandidates are encouraged to apply early, as applications may be screened prior to the vacancy deadline
