 Background:

NCA has been working  in Darfur since 2004, in close collaboration with local partners, governmental ministries and HAC, bringing together a wide array of expertise. NCA is aiming at providing support to the most vulnerable through humanitarian, long term, and advocacy projects. NCA’s focus areas in Darfur are WASH, Health and Nutrition, Economic Empowerment and Food Security and Gender - Based Violence. NCA is working in Central and South Darfur and have offices in Nyala and Zalingei.

 Duties and responsibilities:

Objective 1, Monitoring

  • Develop and improve tools and systems for data collection, analysis and filing and ensure staff have the knowledge
  • Contribute to developing monitoring plans for all projects and provide support to the sectors as needed.
  • Provide support to developing proposals and reports with a focus on the results framework including impact, outcome, outputs, and activities.
  • Coordinate and lead monitoring visits including NCA staff (various sectors, finance, logistics), beneficiaries and relevant stakeholders like partners and authorities.
  • Monitor overall performance, undertake analysis, and continuously look for improvements and tools for enhancing efficiency.
  • Make sure monitoring reports are archived according to NCA regulations.
  • Ensure NCA routines and guidelines are implemented correctly.
  • Work across sectors to integrate monitoring into the funding application workstream and ensure colleagues in other departments have a good understanding of monitoring and evaluations.
  • Contribute to funding applications by creating monitoring plans and write short descriptions of NCA routines and procedures

Objective 2, Evaluation

  • Contribute to developing annual evaluation plans in accordance with donor and NCA requirements.
  • Coordinate external evaluations and lead internal reviews and assessments.

Objective 3, Learning

  • Ensure learning points are disseminated and organise learning sessions after evaluations, reviews, and assessments are finalised.
  • Organise and lead reflective sessions after monitoring visits and ensure learning is included in revisions and new projects.
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
  • BA/BSc degree in statistics, social science or related discipline.
  • Computer skills in MS office (word, access, excel, SPSS, power point, internet, and disk management).
  • Knowledge of digital data collection tools (KOBO, Survey CTO, etc).
  • Ability to use statistical packages such as; SPSS, EPIINFO and advanced excel.
  • At least 5 years of experience in participatory assessments, monitoring, data processing or analysis.
  • Experience from working with NGOs/humanitarian organisations.
  • Familiar with donors and experience in proposal and report writing.
  • Excellent in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Experience in training, facilitation, and good communication skills.
  • Good contextual knowledge and understanding.
  • Experience of field data collection, analysis and documentation.
  • Good understanding of gender and conflict sensitive monitoring and evaluation
  • Culture-sensitive with excellent cooperation skills – we are looking for a team player!

  • Digital literacy and ability to quickly adapt to new software, for example Teams and Project Information System (PIMS).
