Background:
The Senior Finance Officer will enable the smooth operation of the finance activities, maintains records, support the Finance Coordinator in overall management of financial resources, monitoring and financial controls. S/he will ensure that the Concern Worldwide financial policies and procedures are implemented in a standardized manner and in true spirit. This job is anticipated to be 80% based in Khartoum, with 20% being support of field offices.

Duties and responsibilities:
Timesheet Management:
- Liaise with HR to determine donor funding for all new staff
- Preparation of all national and international staff timesheets for circulation to all staff
- Follow up with line managers on completion of staff timesheets
- Updating time sheet tacking sheet on monthly basis and sending reminder for pending time sheets
- Review of timesheets received from staff to ensure completeness
- Actively follow up on all outstanding timesheets
- Ensure all timesheets are filed and easily retrievable for future audits
Cash and Bank book review for field monthly books
- Under supervision of Finance Coordinator, follow up with the field finance officers for submission of their monthly cash and bank books by the 5th of every month.
- Carry out monthly reconciliations on all cashbooks and bank accounts by the 5th of the next month
- Keep track of all cash and bank books from the field and ensure they are filed by the finance assistant
- Review of field cash/bank books and scans of documents.
- Review of field box files/ physical voucher
- Review of all PRF submitted to finance for payment
- creating CSV files of cash/bank books and journals
Fixed Asset Management
- Identify all fixed assets in the monthly management accounts.
- Provide a monthly report to Systems team with details of all items expensed to asset codes to enable them to ensure Fixed Asset Register is updated correctly.
- Participate in the year end fixed asset stock take count
In-country Income
- Review monthly bank statements to confirm receipt of in country income
- Ensure correct donor and project code are used for recording of in-country income
- Assist in the preparation of the in-country income file for monthly submission to HQ
- Assist in the preparation of the in-country income journals
Taxation and Social Insurance Payments
- Calculation of taxation of staff salary
- Calculation of staff Social insurance
- sending information on salary taxation and social insurance to field office
- Ensuring that social insurance and taxes are paid on/before due date
- Ensuring that record is up to date
Field Finance Visits
- Support the field teams by covering for field finance officers while they are on leave
- Provide training and support to field finance officers
- Cover field finance gaps where required
Other Duties
- Assisting the CFC during the internal/external/donor audit. Following instructions from CFC/PPA to facilitate audit work
- Working closely with field offices, system and program team on monthly and annual accruals
- working as member of Purchase committee if required
- Cover other colleagues role during their leave/absence for a short time as assigned by CFC/Finance Coordinator
- Any other finance duties as required by the Finance Coordinator/CFC

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- University degree or diploma in Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English and working experience in an INGO or UN preferable
- A good understanding of financial control systems
- Commitment to working in a team
- Willing to travel to field offices ( Kordofan /West Darfur)
- High level computer literacy (MS Word, Excel)
- High level of discretion is required due to the confidential nature of some parts of the finance function.
- CMA Certification will be an added advantage
