Description
Duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily/weekly and monthly mining plans in consultation with geology, processing, fleet and mine operations departments.
- Responsible for short term plans and designs.
- Ensure periodic mining and ore feed plans are achieved
- Ensure drill and blast plans and targets are achieved.
- Responsible for daily/weekly and monthly production reporting
- Design and develop rolling weekly excavator plans and schedules for the mining operation.
- Ensure implementation and compliance of Site Safety Health and Environmental standard.
- End of Month reporting
- Responsible for Mine Cost reports

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of experience in open pit mining (experience in narrow vein gold mining is highly desirable).
- Computer Proficiency in:
- Surpac for drill and blast, planning and mine design
- Mineshed for scheduling and;
- Whittle for Open Pit Optimization.
- Advanced Excel spreadsheet
- AutoCAD
- Any other mining software can be considered.
- Have prior experience working as a mine planning engineer on an operational open-cut mine
- Drilling and blasting design experience essential
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills (preferably Arabic but not essential)
- Ability to work under pressure
- Meeting deadlines
- Ability to work in challenging environment
- Ability to work independently, with a high regard for personal and team safety
- Good communication and team work skills are essential
