Job Introduction:

This project will be under the control of G4S whose client has been coordinating and providing quality assurance (QA) of all humanitarian mine action activities throughout South Sudan since 2004. The project objective is to provide Multi Task Teams (MTT) capable of conducting Non-Technical Survey (NTS), Manual Mine Clearance (MMC), Battle Area Clearance (BAC), Road Clearance and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) of suspected and confirmed mine/ERW hazardous areas

Role Responsibility:

Required to undertake, record and report non-technical survey, road assessment and clearance, technical survey and mine/ERW clearance;

Supervise a de-mining team operating in both one person one lane and linear clearance drills.

Supervise a team conducting road clearance drills.

Plan, deploy and supervise a team in a battle area clearance or cluster munitions clearance role;

Use Explosive Ordnance Disposal skills including but not limited to use of line main and ring main for the disposal of multiple items of ammunition, use of a small arms incinerator, identification of all Land Service Ammunition found in South Sudan, capacity to identify whether an item is safe to move, fuze removal using a de-armer, use of pyrotechnic torches;

Plan, deploy and supervise a team in a mine clearance role;

The Ideal Candidate:

Minimum two (2) years of experience in a similar role with a Mine Action organization;

Documented Explosive Ordnance Disposal skills including but not limited to use of line main and ring main for the disposal of multiple items of ammunition, use of a small arms incinerator, identification of all Land Service Ammunition found in South Sudan, capacity to identify whether an item is safe to move, fuse removal using a de-armer, use of pyrotechnic torches;

Documented capability to undertake, record and report non-technical survey, road assessment and clearance, technical survey and mine/ERW
clearance;

Trained and experienced in using dual sensor (GPR) detectors

Ability to supervise a demining team operating in both one person one lane and linear clearance drills.

Ability to supervise a team conducting road clearance drills.

Experience in planning, deploying and supervising a team in a mine clearance role;

Experience in planning, deploying and supervising a team in a battle area clearance or cluster munitions clearance role;

Ability to calibrate and operate a dual sensor detector (VMR3 variant), handheld and large Loop detectors.

Experience in planning and conducting risk education lessons.

The selected candidate shall be familiar with the relevant Internationals Mine Action Standards
