SUMMARY:

Our Client is a group of companies based in South Sudan looking to hire for positions in their subsidiary companies. The role will be based in South Sudan.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Civil Engineers will provide leadership in Amoco Construction and oversee the design, construction, supervision and operation of large construction projects and systems undertaken by the company. The position reports to the Board of THL.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide strategic leadership for AMOCO Construction team
• Identify infrastructure development opportunities, develop proposals, and develop bids and quotations for jobs in public and private sector
• Develop a team of experts and staff to carry out major construction projects form inception to completion
• Design and assess major projects, such as buildings and infrastructure to ensure their strength and durability
• Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects
• Consider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors in planning stages and risk analysis
• Compile and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies verifying that projects comply with various regulations
• Perform or oversee soil testing to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations
• Test building materials, such as concrete, asphalt, or steel, for use in particular projects
• Provide cost estimates for materials, equipment, or labor to determine a project’s economic feasibility
• Perform or oversee, surveying operations to establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction
• Supervise construction projects and sites
• Make presentations to the public on topics such as bid proposals, environmental impact statements, or property descriptions
• Manage the construction, repair, maintenance, and refurbishment structures

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• BSc Engineering from a reputable University
• Diploma in construction/project Management will be an added advantage
• 7 Years Work experience in project construction environment
