At WFP, we are looking for a talented Senior Budget and Programming Associate for Khartoum Country Office, Sudan to be hired on a Fixed Term Contract at GS7 Level.
WFP Sudan has the potential to reach millions of food insecure people across Sudan – with over a total of 4 million people assisted in 2019. WFP Sudan, one of the largest and complex operations for WFP globally, is currently rolling out its five-year Country Strategic Plan (2019-2024), which aims to provide emergency assistance through a hybrid approach (Cash, food and vouchers), along with life-changing types of programmes (Nutrition, Resilience and School Feeding).
- Act as an escalation point in providing procedural and technical support to staff with the areas of budget and programming, to ensure compliance with WFP financial policies, rules and regulations.
- Review budget plans, monitor and conduct comprehensive analysis of project financial performance and make recommendations in compliance with WFP policies and procedures and best practises, to support financial analysis and optimisation of resources.
- Review and provide comprehensive analysis on fund and grant balances identifying surpluses and deficits, and suggest corrective measures, to support maximum fund utilization and decision- making process.
- Support pipeline management ensuring efficient planning and monitoring, to prevent and address pipeline break and maximise operational effectiveness.
- Actively participate and contribute to the improvement of internal process, enhancement of corporate systems and design of tools, to facilitate the overall planning, expenditure forecasting, and budget management and monitoring of resources utilisation.
7. Review and analyse complex data and prepare comprehensive periodic and/hoc reports, to support accuracy and efficiency of information presented to internal and external stakeholders.
8. Communicate with a wide range of stakeholders regarding complex project funds management matters and related processes, to resolve any current/potential issues preventing from optimising of funds.
9. Co-ordinate and supervise work of other support staff, and support their learning and development in budget planning, fund management and operational planning, to ensure continued development and consistency services delivers.
10. Follow standard emergency preparedness practises, to ensure WFP is able Provide regular inputs to monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on the progress of the HF-retail platforms to WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
Completion a secondary school education . A post -secondary school certificate in the related functional area.
Experience:
A minimum o six years of professional experience is required in the field of budget and programming or related area. Abiity to effective use Microsoft Office (World, EXCEL,Access) software.
Language:
Fluency in English and Arabic.
- Has experience coaching and training high-potential staff or new saff members to contribute to variety budget analysis.
- Has supported the design and improvement of budgetary management techniques.
- Has coordinated project management activities.
