Job Purpose

The Finance & Admin Officer is expected to provide oversight to IAS Nyala Local Projects Financial and Administrative Management.

IAS Sudan is looking for a passionate individual for our programme in South Darfur who has the experience and competencies to work as Finance & Admin Officer, taking the lead in enhancing financial quality implementation, accountability, learning to achieve breakthrough solutions, bringing immediate and lasting change in the lives of the women, men, youth and children we serve.  Duties and responsibilities:
  • Manage/Maintain the online financial archiving system on Google Drive for Financial reporting, scans, Policies & Procedures and Cashbooks on daily basis;
  • Review payment documents for accuracy, compliance with IAS/donor policies and completeness;
  • Perform full set of accounts closing, Bank reconciliations, Cash reconciliations on daily basis and liaising with banks for all transfers and finance matters;
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining Fixed Assets registrations;
  • Control that contracts are fulfilled and that all payments to suppliers, contractors, partners etc. are duly signed and authorized by Country Director;
  • Liaison with Khartoum office to ensure thorough accurate and timely internal audit;
  • Overall Management of Guest House and Office (maintenance, cleaning, guards, Cleaner, utilities...etc);
  • Maintain travel permits and all documents approval from HAC;
  • Prepare staff attendance and timesheets to be submitted on monthly basis for payroll processing;
  • Ensuring confidentiality and professional integrity is upheld at all times;
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Project Coordinator and Finance Support Manager.
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Desired Minimum Qualifications/Experience

  • Financial management experience, including budgeting, financial management (tracking, reporting, and accounting), and procurement;
  • A least 2 years work experience in finance or accounting in INGOs;

 

Minimum qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in accounting, finance, business administration, auditing;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic is desirable but not required;
  • High proficiency in computer programmes such as Word, Excel, QuickBooks and other accounting software’s.
