Background:
The Infection Prevention and Control Officer can works under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of the respective Health Emergency programme or geographical location or in small to medium-sized Country Offices directly under the WHO Representative. S/he is expected to perform his/her duties and responsibilities with highest degree of efficiency and sound judgment. To provide technical support to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) for covid-19 response related activities in Khartoum state through leading supportive supervision team. Infection prevention and control (IPC) Officer within health facilities is a neglected area in the medical practice in Sudan. Covid-19 outbreak is transmitted through droplets and health care workers are typically infected within the health facilities when basic IPC measures are not respected. By the end of June, 94 medical staff were infected with the disease all over the country, with the majority being in Khartoum. The incumbent coordinates activities in the designated areas and may supervise directly a small team of Special Service Agreement holders. |

Duties and responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the senior IPC specialist assess the IPC situation and progress for: 70 selected PHCCs and 5 secondary isolation centres (sICT) in Khartoum state. |

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
University degree of Medicine, Nursing, training and experience in IPC. At least 1 years of experiences in IPC management position with good training skills. |
