Job Purpose:

The WASH Officer will support the MA WASH department in implementation of WASH project, monitoring implementation and progress of CLTS component, carrying out the community mobilization and participate in  assess needs and coordinate the provision of WASH services.

 
 Duties and responsibilities:
  • The WASH officer will assist the WASH Coordinator in the day-to-day management and implementation of CLTS and relevant WASH activities
  • Assist on all construction, and rehabilitation related measures regarding water supply systems and sanitary facilities.
  • Assist to carry out capacity development activities for improved sanitation and hygiene.
  • Working with alongside communities to improve hygiene practices, sanitation and save water provision.
  • Organizing the community orientation sessions, ensure that community are fully involved through the project cycles.
  • Conduct hygiene promotion activities within the targeted communities using CLTS approach.
  • Supporting training and follow-up of hygiene community volunteers.
  • Supervising of school health clubs.
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting on project activities using project management and monitoring tools
  • Participating on the baseline and final surveys that will include (data collection, data analysis and report).
  • Working closely with the local partners, providing technical advice and WASH orientation.
  • Training, sensitization and social mobilization
  • Ensure the proper conduct of technical trainings (CLTS approach)
  • Support the WASH promoters during sensitization sessions and trainings;
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
  • BSC. In public health or other relevant field.
  • Good in spoken and written English and Arabic
  • Knowledge in WASH activities, water supply and sanitation

 

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2-3 years of professional experience in implementing WASH projects.
  • Experience in community mobilization and participation.
