Description

 Background:

The Livelihood Field Officer plans, implements and monitors the ICRC’s economic security (EcoSec) programme with a focus on MEI and Livelihood projects in line with the country strategy and under the supervision and guidance of their superior.

 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in planning, implementing and monitoring ICRC Relief and Livelihood programs in the assigned area.
  • Assess the humanitarian situation and needs, particularly in the field of economic security, emergencies and livelihoods of the affected population.
  • Establish and maintain regular coordination with the relevant humanitarian and other actors.
  • In charge of agriculture and micro economic initiatives programs, coordinate the activities with Sudanese Red Crescent (SRCS)
  • Carries out on-site aid distributions.
  • Contributes to designing and implementing voucher, fair, food/cash-for-work, cash transfer and microeconomic initiative programmes.
  • Follow up the progress of relief and livelihood activities through office work and regular field visits.
  • Generate statistical and narrative reports as required.
  • Translate from English to Arabic and vice-versa.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Required Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • University degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a similar field.
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the assigned area.
  • Previous experience working for NGO or international organization is an asset.
  • Computer proficiency, specially in Excel.
