Description
Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Base Team leader to oversee programming in a sub-base in Central Darfur. The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been operational in Sudan since 2004. The programme focuses predominantly on the conflict-affected population living outside of camps in the rural areas.
About the job
The Base Team leader will be responsible for the overall facilitation of DRC operations in the Sub-base, with the support and guidance of the Base Manager. This role must work in close coordination with Sector Managers and the Supply Chain Manager.
Direct Supervision: Finance Assistant, Guards and Cleaners
Works with: Project Officers, MEAL Assistant, Supply Chain Assistant
Reports to: Base Manager
Location: Golo/ Umdukhun

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
· University Degree (Bachelors) in Social Sciences or Management.
· Minimum four (4) years of work experience within the humanitarian/development sector, including:
o At least two (2) years’ experience coordinating emergency programming activities.
o At least two (2) years of experience managing all aspects of a field office, including human resources, finances, logistics, administration and programme supervision.
· Fluency in English and Arabic (speaking, writing, reading).
· Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills
· Demonstrated experience and ability to professionally and appropriately represent the organization and negotiate and defend DRC’s interests in line with the Humanitarian Principles.
· Strong knowledge of the local context, experience managing safety is an advantage.
