 Duties and responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Communication and Campaigns Coordinator (CCC) will increase Save the Children's visibility in Sudan and in the region of Southern Africa in the five thematic areas. He/she will use social media and other communication strategies to implement campaign objectives, raise the profile of SC in Sudan, give visibility to SC Sudan’s advocacy, raise the voice of children in Sudan and disseminate SC Sudan’s knowledge to the public.  The role will oversee relationships with the media.

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
  • University degree in Communications or any relevant degree.
  • Master degree in Communication will be an advantage
  • Substantial experience in campaign planning and implementation in an African country.
  • Knowledge of the media and its role in raising awareness and shaping public policy.
  • Existing network with media in Sudan (TV, radio, written, online)
  • Proven leadership record of advocacy success and ability to develop and implement strategy
  • Experience of creating networks of influence, and an ability to manage diverse professional relationships, thereby securing significant new opportunities for the organisation
  • Proven ability to speak and communicate effectively, and to tailor messages to different audiences
  • Demonstrated understanding of development and humanitarian issues.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UN, AU & HRC, and its role in development, human rights and humanitarian issues.
  • Commitment to Save the Children’s values.
  • Experience of, and willingness to travel in, developing countries
