Description
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Exploration Manager to join an established leading gold mining company.THE COMPANYA leading gold mining company in the Arabian-Nubian Shield, looking at increasing their exploration activities to find high-grade oxide deposits.THE ROLEReporting to the Technical Manager, the Exploration Manager will be responsible for supervision of all Exploration activities within the region, to find new opportunities and follow up those potentials. In addition, the role would coordinate all the subcontractors, including the drilling company.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate strong leadership to local communities, the environment, and the Company employees' and contractors' health and safety.
- Responsible for the evaluation of exploration, development, or acquisition opportunities in the Arabian-Nubian Shield, in line with the Corporate strategy and objectives.
- Provide support and technical input into due diligence reviews within the Arabian-Nubian Shield.
- Develop and execute exploration programs in support of the Company's activities in the Arabian-Nubian Shield.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within the industry with suppliers, other exploration/mining companies and agencies.
- Within approved exploration program, exercises technical and administrative control.
- Supervises all work in area, district or on a project including drilling programs, geological, geophysical and geochemical surveys.
- Develops a strong local team through staff training and reviews, providing guidance and support to accomplish the set goals.
- Produces reports and presentations for the Company and government agencies, including budget preparation and submittal, cost tracking, completing projects on budget, within planned time frames, and achieve performance measures.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 10 years' industry experience in a mining or exploration environment.
- High-level of knowledge of mineralization models and geological processes.
- Strong orogenic experience.
- Experience in a developing country with a preference for working experience in Arabic countries.
- Ensure compliance to relevant country mining laws and work.
- Comply with all safety procedures.
- Good knowledge of Surpac.
- Report any breaches in compliance particularly with all statutory requirements and company standards.
- Broad and varied experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Working experience with geological modelling and resource reporting.
- Experience of working effectively in a senior management team environment.
- Experience working in multicultural environment.
