 Background:

Under the technical supervision of the Country Director the Grants Coordination and Communications Manager will support the mission in preparing grant applications, monitoring grant implementation and reporting to primary stakeholders, donors and other stakeholders. They participate in building the communications knowledge, skills and capacity of staff and partners.

 

In the course of undertaking tasks, he/she represents TGH on the field with professionalism, honesty and commitment.

 Duties and responsibilities:

Grant Coordination 

à Related tasks:

  • Work with the Country Director, the two Heads of Program, the Program team and the national partners to prepare concept notes and grant proposals as well as participating in establishing and maintaining good relationships with donors and program partners.
  • Work with the Head of Programs, the Program team and the national partners to write intermediate or final report for donors and other relevant stakeholders
  • Support the Head of Programs, MEAL Manager, Project Managers, Field Coordinators and Program Teams in establishing and enhancing comprehensive program monitoring processes, systems and tools, so that these provide information to management for decision-making and enhancing program quality.
  •  Contribute to the MEAL Manager, Project Managers and Program Team’s responsibility in monitoring progress on project indicators and outcomes; that result in meeting or exceeding donor requirements and sector standards.
  • Prepare or assist Project Managers and Project Teams to prepare regular reports for primary stakeholders, donors, partners and other stakeholders, as required. Respond to internal and external requests for reports and information about grant projects

 

Communications

à Related tasks:

  • Keep other staff updated on status and progress related to fundraising and grant management.
  • Coordinate communications with primary stakeholders, donors, partners and other stakeholders
  • Support the enhancement of communications skills of program staff, including MEAL staff
  • Provide photos, and success stories to the mission and the HQ for TGH communication actions (website, social networks, newsletter, annual report...).
  • Ensure the formulation of the Monthly newsletter

 

Internal coordination

à Related tasks:

  • Participate in regular internal coordination meetings.
  • Keep other staff updated on status and progress related to fundraising and grant management.

 

Representation and external coordination

  • At the request of the Country Director and/or the two Heads of Programs, represent TGH in UN sector meetings, government coordination meetings, donor meetings and other relevant fora/forums in Sudan,
  • Support the Country Director and the two Head of Programs to establish and maintain effective, dynamic relationships with the donor agencies and support the follow-up of funding opportunities for TGH Sudan.

 

Reporting

à Related tasks:

  • Ensure timely submission of monthly follow up reports and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the reporting.
  • Present periodical reports reports depending on the activities carried out and on Khartoum Coordination Team requirements.

 

Personal & staff capacity-building:

à Related tasks:

  • Participate actively in the training courses recommended by TGH, and share new skills and knowledge with his/ her team or colleagues and TGH partners.
  • Take a proactive stance to identify areas requiring development and tailor training as appropriate
  • Any other tasks assigned by the line or the base manager based on TGH project needs.
  • And any other tasks assigned by line manager or technical supervisor related to TGH project implementation needs.
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
  • BSc degree (in any field).
  • Post Graduate diploma is related field will be an asset.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in related field.
  • Previous experience in the humanitarian sector is required
  • Strong computer skills; good knowledge of the Microsoft office pack
  • Ability to write and speak fluent English and Arabic
  • Excellent program management and planning skills
  • Strong leadership/team management skills
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
