Description

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Assess and Collect information on monitor the availability of health services in the crisis areas to identify gap and room for SRCS interventions in Blue Nile state.
  • Represent SRCS branch in issues related to health emergency and provide consolidated feedback to branch and health department at H.Q. as well.
  • Ensure that humanitarian health needs are identified by planning and coordinating joint, inter-cluster, initial rapid assessments adapting to the local context as well as follow-on more in-depth health sub-sector assessments, as needed.
  • Mobilize volunteers and health staff at the branch to contribute to establishing and maintaining an appropriate Early Warning and Response System, and regularly report on health services delivered to the affected population and the situation in the areas where they work.
  • Lead all branch health contingency and intervention planning to identify need, resources and partners
  • Provide leadership to health emergency staff and volunteers in the branch.
  • Promote adherence of standards and best practices to ensure the application of common approaches, tools and standards.
  • Conduct field visit to affected areas to ensure proper implementation and monitoring of plans as requested
  • Identify urgent training needs  for staff and volunteer in relation to technical standards and protocols for the delivery of key emergency health services
  • Coordinate the dissemination of key technical materials and the organization of essential workshops or in-service training.
  • Prepare compile all reports related to emergency health including financial reports with feedback to branch director and health department at H.Q.
  • Carry out any other function of health as requested by the head of health department, emergency health coordinator or branch director.

 

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education:

Essential: Degree in medicine and/or Public Health.

 

 Experience:

Essential: Minimum of 6 years of field experience, of which at least 3 in managing and coordinating health programs in chronic and acute, sudden-onset emergencies.

Work with, INGO, NGO or other organization is preferable
