Description

 Background:

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an impartial, neutral and independent organisation striving to protect and assist the victims of war and internal violence, has been working in Sudan since 1978. The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to fill the position of HR Assistant in Khartoum.

 

Purpose:

The HR Assistant assists in carrying out administrative work. S/he prepares and updates documents for delivering HR services autonomously, in line with the ICRC’s and delegation’s policies and the applicable laws and regulations.

 Duties and responsibilities:
  • Provides general secretarial and administrative support (updating staff files and contracts, handling correspondence, registration and filing, etc.).
  • Administrates HR system in accordance with the role assigned to him.
  • Ensures that information on HR issues under their responsibility is shared within the rest of the delegation.
  • Keeps records (e.g. Note to the files, absences, letters) and ensures that HR data is of good quality and kept up to date, particularly regarding salary and contribute effectively to HR document digitalization project
  • Carries out procedures related to local HR practice; absence and leave, personal files, letters and ID Cards
  • Involve in recruitment process, manages and monitors the administrative aspects of the recruitment cycle.
  • Assists in planning and coordinating the Onboarding program
  • May assist local training activities with administrative work.

 

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
  • Professional diploma and/or vocational training in human resources.
  • 4–5 years’ experience in a similar field.
  • Experience in using and maintaining an application tracking system.
  •  At ease with developing and analyzing statistics and metrics.
  • Fluent spoken and written English and Arabic
  • Computer skills (proficiency in MS Office); familiarity with digital communication tools.
  • Proficiency in HR administration, Employment Benefits, Candidate Management, Development of policies, Functional support
  • Skilled in the following competencies: Leadership, Accountability, People management, Teamwork & Collaboration, Representing the ICRC, Beneficiary & Client focused.
