WFP Sudan has the potential to reach millions of food insecure people across Sudan - with a total of 7.8 million people assisted in 2020, WFP Sudan, one of the largest and complex operations for WFP globally, is currently rolling out its five-year Country Strategic Plan (2019-2023), which aims to provide emergency assistance through a hybrid approach (Cash, food and vouchers), along with life-changing types of programmes (Nutrition, Resilience and School Feeding).

JOB PURPOSE

To provide specialized support functions and/or supervise staff performing standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to contribute to empowerment of people with choice to address their essential needs in local markets, while also helping to boost these markets.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

    • Plan and participate in multi-sectoral assessments to determine the supply chain needs and analyze risks with respect to cash-based transfer interventions;
    • Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting the implementation of CBT in the country from supply chain perspective.
    • Assist Supply Chain CBT in analysing the beneficiaries/shop situation and comparison.
    • Undertake micro retailer capacity assessments aiming at identifying suitable shops for contracting, using the corporate tool ROC. Assist with the retailer capacity building throughout the country, including session on food safety and quality; prepare relevant training material and conduct regular training sessions for the retailers.
    • Participate in retailer onboarding process. This includes the delivery of onboarding training to the retailer.
    • Plan and execute engagements with partners in the supply chain CBT activities
    • Assist with the completion of retailer performance evaluations by the end of the retailer contract
    • Follow up with Area Offices to ensure timely receipt of the monthly distribution plan and provide support where needed.

    • Provide regular CBT updates, data and reports

  • Preform other related duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in Stores Management, Statistics, Business Administration or any other field related to Logistics.

Experience: At least Five years of progressive working experience in of relevant experience in the field of cash based transfers, procurement, logistics, supply chain, transport, operations, retail, wholesaler, food trading, business administration, project management, engineering or other related field is desirable.

Language: Fluency in both English and Arabic.
