Cooperazione Internazionale (COOPI) is an international Italian NGO established in 1965. Since its establishment, COOPI has been undertaking activities to help and empower the poor and needy in different countries. COOPI Sudan started its operation in 2004 and has been primarily implementing emergency, relief and early recovery programs in water hygiene and sanitation, food security and livelihood, nutrition and protection sectors.

COOPI is currently implementing several projects in North Darfur, Kassala and Khartoum in the sectors of WASH, Food Security and Livelihood, Climate Change adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction and Refugee Response.

 

Under the framework of the on-going projects, COOPI is looking for qualified and competent Consultant  to carry out a Market Analysis report on Mayo area.

 
 Duties and responsibilities:

COOPI is seeking to hire qualified and experienced national staff to produce a comprehensive Market Analysis of Mayo Area, on the base of the data collected by COOPI.

Under the supervision of Project Manager, the consultant/ expert is expected to develop a comprehensive Market Research Analysis on the employment opportunities of the youth people of Mayo

 

 

Specifically she/he is expected to:

  • Clean the data that has been collected in the areas of Mayo Mandela, Angola, Ghabboush, Yarmouk, for a total of 600 surveys.
  • Produce a clear report containing qualitative and quantitative analysis of the data which clearly assess the Market situation in Mayo.
  • Highlight in the report main findings and outcomes from the research (questionnaires and FGDs) on the Mayo Market: a. Youth skills b. Consumer demand c. Market Opportunities of employability (gaps, challanges, most developed sectors);
  • Advice on the best employment strategies for youth of the area;
  • Suggest vocational trainings in Angola, Mandela, Yarmouk, Ghabboush on the base of the data collected on: a. Youth skills, b. Consumer demand, c. Market opportunities.

 

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Requirements:

  • Relevant Master’s degree and or academic specialization in Business and Administration, Statistics, Economy or similar fields.
  • Relevant experience in data cleaning and data analysis.
  • Demonstrable experience as Researcher, Technical Advisor, Consultant, Teacher, in Economy, Market Analysis, Livelihood.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language and Arabic native speaker.
  • Good knowledge of Kobo Toolbox.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft excel (Info graphics and or pivot tables).
  • Knowledge of the job market in Khartoum, previous experience in Mayo on livelihood and similar will be considered as an asset.

 

Key Activities/ Deliverables

 

  • Data Revision and Data Cleaning, of the surveys conducted and collected in Mayo through Kobo Toolbox.
  • Analysis of the data.
  • Narrative Report containing both quantitative and qualitative information. The report is mainly aiming to assess the current situation of Mayo Market and provide useful recommendations on the job opportunities for youth in Mayo.
