Objective of the consultancy: 96 days and will be distributed in 12 month

The position of the Grant Associate will be an output/deliverable-based consultancy To support the project team in preparing documents and providing advice on issues related to donor reporting requirements, development of program theory and its use for monitoring and evaluation, and project stakeholders’ engagement. Over the assigned period, he/she will assist in preparing work plans and budgets for the project activities; monitoring forms and formats for works; progress reports (baseline, annual and semi-annual reports, etc.); as well as any other reports required by the project team.

Terms of Reference

 

  • Grant:

 

  • Manage the calendar (proposals, correspondences, reports, etc.) of the EU-funded project: COVID-19 Response Sudan.
  • Manage all components for grant proposals and shepherd them through the drafting, revision, and submission processes.
  • Conduct due diligence on submitted grant proposals in accordance with WHO and European Commission guidelines.
  • Support grant management as well as grant reports, drafting, editing, and submitting in line with the European Commission M&E guidelines throughout the course of the project (baseline survey, inception rider, 2 interim reports, mid-term evaluation, and final report).
  • Track and follow-up on narrative and financial reports, and any other outstanding documentation.
  • Draft high-quality, compelling grant activity that reflect a solid understanding of the project allowing ample time for input and revisions by different stakeholders.
  • Assist in compliance with reporting requirement and schedules.
  • Data:
  • Meticulously track donor (European Commission) and grant information (EUTF Agreement: COVID-19 Response Sudan).
  • Performs front desk coverage and serves as back-up as part of the administrative support team.
  • Communications
  • Draft, prepare, and send communications to stakeholders, including acknowledgment, notes, invitations, and organizational updates.
  • Support the project team where needed.Duration of the consultancy : 96 days and will be distributed in 12 month – 8 days each month

Specific requirements

- Qualifications required: Degrees / Certificates

  • University degree in medicine, public health, or related field

- Experience required: Minimum 2 year experience in health system development and strengthening in complex emergencies and fragile settings.

- Skills / Technical skills and knowledge:

  • Good Knowledge of the Sudan’s health sector;
  • The ability to act independently;
  • The ability to function well in a team.

- Language requirements: Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is an asset.

Place of assignment : The work will be delivered remotely

Medical clearance : The selected Consultant will be expected to provide a medical certificate of fitness for work.

Travel : All travel arrangements will be made by WHO – WHO will not be responsible for tickets purchased by the Consultant without the express, prior authorization of WHO. While on mission under the terms of this consultancy, the Consultant will receive subsistence allowance.Visas requirements: it is the consultant’s responsibility to fulfil visa requirements and ask for visa support letter(s) if needed.
