Duties and responsibilities:
This role of the project coordinator will focus on implementation of the project titled “Obligation to Protect and Empower Girls in Sudan (OPEG)” in Kassalla, White Nile and North Darfur states through national implementing partners in coordination with Project Manager, programme area managers and other relevant technical staff, the PC will ensure quality and timely delivery of work performance according to project proposal, standards, specifications, polices, donors’ requirements/compliance and the prospective results.
Key Accountabilities
- Managing the portfolio assigned to the project location as per project budget
- Preparation of accurate and timely reporting on the project activities and share it with project manager to be presented to the stakeholders and donors.
- Research and analyses policy and operational issues related to harmful social norms, gender equality and girls’ rights with relevance to state level context
- Coordinate project delivery with implementing partners namely; A) Sudanese Organization for Research and Development (SORD), B) Sudan National Committee on Traditional Practices (SNCTP) and C) Child Rights Society, and other key stakeholders identified in respective areas
- Communicate with line manager in any concerns may hinder implementation of the project as planned, propose mitigation measures, and provide briefings when required
- Represent Plan in related coordination meeting such as state level social norms task force, and provide required updates regarding the project.
- Engage in meeting involving the donor and take minutes of the discussion occurred
- Meeting beneficiaries targeted by IP and demonstrate change/outcomes
ACCOUNTABILITIES (SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS):
- Developed Detailed Implementation Plan – DIP and continue updating it with IP and follow the logical framework of the project in coordination with project manager.
- Coordinate different project activities efficiently with assigned implementing partners.
- Support and lead project surveys, assessments, baselines, and feasibility studies at local level; and coordinate process of beneficiary’s communication needs.
- Support partners to develop monitoring and reporting tools on different stages of activities that enhance learning and improvement/adaptation to evolving needs of communities
- Drive the project execution with efficiency in processes and effectiveness in achieving the planned objective in a manner to reach the desired outcomes and impact.
- Provide the project manager with details information required that contribute to effective planning, budgeting and risks analysis for better project implementation.
- Participate in project related meeting and coordination avenues at state and localities levels and with whom the project is of concern.
- Tracking the achievement in coordination with M&E team and IP and document lessons learns, success stories, photos of key events where possible in effective manner.
- Maintain coordination and close relationship with Plan’s relevant departments (programs, administration, Resource Mobilization, Accounts and M&E).
- Support implementing partner to mainstream Gender, Protection and Accountability including community feedback and respond mechanisms (CFRM) throughout the implementation of the project and seek support when needed.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics or other related fields. Master degree is preferable.
- At least 4 years’ experience in a similar, senior management role in management of Protection, Gender or social change projects preferably within humanitarian context
- Proven understanding of programming concepts and human rights based approach in development and emergencies and understand partnership management.
- Experience in conducting capacity development programme
- Good skill in project cycle management and project quality standards.
- Demonstrated ability to set up learning and development processes and strategies for partners and community groups.
Communication skills
a. Good Computer skills (word, excel, power point, access …etc)
b. Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic languages.
c. Ability to think creatively to development new ideas, present it to others and understand associated risks.
