Description
The Swedish SARC program started in 2006 and has since sent out more than 65 SARC to contribute to UN reform. Read more at http://www.sida.se/Svenska/engagera-dig/internationella-tjanster/sarc/ .
Sida collaborates with UNDESA & UNRCO in the selection and recruitment process. The service is for one year at a time, for a maximum of three years. Read the ToR document below for more information.
Qualifications:
- at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. We look forward to having previous UN experience
- preferably 3-5 years of professional experience in a developing country
- Master's degree at the time of application
- maximum 38 years at the time of application
- very good knowledge of English
- Swedish citizenship or Swedish residence permit with very good knowledge of Swedish and some education completed in Sweden
- and qualification requirements in the job description (ToR).

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all documents are uploaded and correctly filled in English in Sida's recruitment tool via the application form on the next page. Incomplete application is not accepted. The following documents must be attached:
- UN Personal History Form (PHP) - important to use UN forms and nothing else. Completed in English. The PHP must be signed.

Make sure your documents are max 400KB each. The PHP form can be max 1MB .
Name your documents according to this format: "First name Last name CV", "First name Last name CL", "First name Last name PHP" and "First name Last name MA".
Tips on how to fill out the UN form:
- For all jobs, clearly indicate the working hours as a percentage, ie. full time 100%, part time 50% ... etc.
- For employment outside the UN, please enter the annual salary.
- For consulting assignments, please enter either an annual salary based on the assignment's salary or daily sum.
- For UN employment, please fill in the type of contract (time, consultant, trainee, etc.) and salary level, ie. P2, P3, etc.
- State clearly whether services are unpaid volunteer and internships.
- For overlapping periods of employment, these should be followed by explanatory text.
Good to know about the recruitment process
- Sida only accepts applications through the recruitment system
- Deadline is June 30, 2020
- The selection process will begin after the application deadline has expired
- Mandatory departure course will be held October 4-9, 2020
- Access the service no earlier than mid-October 2020
Preparations for departure
Sida arranges compulsory preparation training before departure. Central themes are overall goals and methods for international and Swedish development cooperation.
