 Background:

 

Alsalam Organization for Rehabilitation and Development (AORD) aims at supporting the creation of a peaceful enabling environment conducive to the fulfilment of the rights of refugees, displaced and host communities to survival, development, dignity and equality. AORD works with refugees and displaced in many States of Sudan including West, North and South Kordofan, Blue Nile, White Nile, Sennar and Darfur. The organization places sub-office co-ordinators in locations where there are more than one project and. The presence of a Sub-office co-ordinator ensures the complimentary links between AORD projects in addition to the harmonious co-existence of the Stakeholder.

 Duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Under the overall guidance of the General Director and direct and technical supervision of the Area Manager the Sub-office coordinator will perform The main purpose of the job that is to design, manage, implement and monitor all projects and sub-grants in the targeted locations through timely and quality inputs and support aligned with all requirements. In addition, the job includes staff management, working with various stakeholders, working with internal department and other day to day activities.
  • Perform Coordination and liaison functions in support of AORD office and projects in his area of operation.
  • Ensure functional operational support is in place in the sites to achieve results across program sectors and Implement AORD operational policies at a national level.
  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations with regard to the supply chain and develop an annual operations plan with regular follow-up of department.
  • Represent AORD and liaise with local and national authorities, UN, NGO, and donor agencies to promote AORD programs, facilitate successful coordination of activities and ensure transparency.
  • Assist AORD, consortium agencies and government counterparts in planning humanitarian and development interventions focused on the displacement and refugee situation.
  • Perform functions of information and communication officer within the framework of AORD programme in the area.
  • Expand AORD and other related agencies programming analysis.
  • Assist logistically assessment survey and programme development missions
  • Promote development initiatives and strengthen local counterpart and beneficiary’s capacity in setting up appropriate governance systems.
  • Report on area socio-economic and political situation to the Programme Advisor on a regular basis and keeps an eye on new programming or project opportunities.
  • Represent AORD in front of government and other partner agencies working in his area.
  • Responsible from the initiation idea of the concept note as well the proposal writing, reporting writing and ensure that meet donors guide line and dateline.
  • Build effective network with different organization on his area of operation.
  • Undertake ad-hoc assignment or any other relevant duty as may be required by the Programme Advisor or General Director of AORD.
  •  Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
    • Advanced university degree, preferably in the social and political sciences, development studies, economics, public sector management and strategic planning or related areas.
    • At least 5 years of experience in development work or relevant field of specialization.
    • Ability to establish priorities, plan, coordinate and monitor work plans.
    • Ability to proactively seek and recommend sound policy and programme or project initiatives.
    • Good interpersonal skills with sensitivity and respect for multi-culture and diversity.
    • Ability to write reports, assessment papers in a clear and concise manner and to communicate orally in an effective manner.
    • Good analytical skills to identify and resolve difficult and sensitive issues.
    • Good computer skills proficiency in word processing spreadsheets and other relevant software.
    • Fluency in spoken and written English; Arabic would be an asset.

 

Job Description Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:

South and West Kordofan are the conflicted affected states in Sudan. As a result of the persistent conflict and chronic underdevelopment, humanitarian agencies are often takes a lead on filling the gaps and support delivery of basic services. Alsalam Organization for Rehabilitation and Development (AORD) providing lifesaving humanitarian assistance in the two states. The assistance is mainly focused on education, food security and livelihood, child protection, gender-based violence (GBV), WASH, health and nutrition interventions covering 10 localities.
