Background:
Ensure completion of all activities related to medical data entry and data management into the mission database. Supervise, organize and plan the activity of Data Entry officers/operators, as well as identify their training needs in order to provide a good service support and reliability of the data collected.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Supervise, organize and plan the activity of Data Entry officers to have a reliable record of medical activity performed, as well as identify their training/technical support needs in order to provide a good service support and reliability of the data collected.
- Ensure collation and entry of all data identified by epidemiology activity manager for collection (e.g. morbidity, mortality, surveillance of diseases of epidemics, nutrition, psychological and women’s health, etc) into the appropriate data management system while ensuring quality of data
- Do quality control data officers’ performance on regular basis in relation to data collection activities
- Know and ensure proper use of software used for data encoding (i.e Microsoft Excel, HMIS/DHIS2, etc)
- Ensure accuracy of the medical data entered into the mission’s database on a regular basis, according to MSF protocols and carry out regular back-ups.
- Provide technical support to data entry officers/operators in project sites and give response to their training needs.
- Provide regular statistical reports for the medical team as well as informing the epidemiology activity manager of any missing information, major changes or big differences in data.
- The role will be based in the coordination office of MSF-Holland in Khartoum with support for the projects located in East Sudan and South Darfur.
- The projects in East Sudan are in response to the Tigrayan emergency, they are in separate states namely Kassala and Gedarif.
- In Gedarif State, the project is based in Tenideba Refugee camp providing medical services for both refugees and host communities with an IPD and OPD set-up. In addition, there is a community event based surveillance (CEBS) system to monitor the health status of refugees at the community level. Both of these require substantial support in data collection, monitoring and quality checks.
- In Kassala State, medical services at the PHCC level as well as plans to expand into other localities in the state will require a transition from an excel based data system to the HMIS/DHIS2 data system, requiring supervision to ensure a smooth transition.
- Finally, in South Darfur, the project is supporting three clinics providing health services to communities in Jabal Marra Mountains. The project is utilizing HMIS/DHIS2 data system and supervision and training of the data processing officer/operator will be needed.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required
- Essential proven computer literacy, secondary education or qualifications either in administration, data entry or in statistics. Degree in Public Health, Statistics or Information and Technology (IT) desirable.
- Essential working experience of at least one year with MSF or other medical organizations/INGOs.
- Mission working language and local languages essential. (English and Arabic).
- Essential knowledge of use of computer including processing of documents (Word, Excel).
- Essential knowledge and experience with HMIS/DHIS2.
- Desirable knowledge on medical statistics data bases.
