Description
Westray Recruitment Group is seeking mechanically minded, dexterous machine operatives to work within our high-volume production facility based in Billingham. Although training will be provided, we're seeking candidates who have a machine setting & operation background and who hold a mechanical competency to learn the range of duties required of them.
Duties:
- Setting and operating production machinery
- Stripping components
- Performing machine cleaning and following standard procedures for optimising machines through basic maintenance
- Using precision tooling to perform quality checks
- Undertaking manual cleaning duties
- Loading and unloading machines
- Working towards production targets
- Operating machines and performing machine changeovers
- Working to update computer systems, undertaking machine checks and ensuring production delivery
Requirements:
- Must have experience working to set and operate production-based machinery, ideally within high volume production led industries
- Must have a developed mechanical competency with the ability to use hand tools
- Must be meticulous in your approach to cleaning and maintaining production equipment
- Competent to perform quality checks with the ability to update schedules & record checks using an in-house computer system
- Ideally, will have experience working within a Food Production Environment, although this is not essential
- Due to the unsociable nature of shifts, it may prove advantageous for applicants to hold their own transport
- Must be flexible to undertake a range of shifts
Package:
This is a temp to perm position. Applicants must be flexible to work a range of shifts (including night shift 7pm-7am), however in the first instance, Technical Operatives will either work 7am-7pm Monday to Thursday or 7am-7pm Friday to Monday. You must be prepared to work both shift patterns depending on requirements. This centres on a 48-hour week. The role is paid at £10.95 per hour. These roles are immediate starts.
